Heating Allowance in Greece: How to Apply on myΘέρμανση

Published: Last checked:

The heating allowance (επίδομα θέρμανσης) is claimed online through the myΘέρμανση application of the tax authority (ΑΑΔΕ, or AADE), which you open from your myAADE account. Dates and conditions are set by a new decision each winter. On 8 October 2026 the AADE page still showed the deadline of the previous season, 5 December 2025, and we found no announced dates for winter 2026-27. So this guide covers how the application works and what to prepare. It does not give dates or amounts, because those are not published yet.

What you need before you start

  • Access to myAADE with your Taxisnet codes. Our page on social allowances and benefits shows what else we help with.
  • An IBAN declared in myAADE, where you are the main or joint holder. AADE says this must be done before you apply, through the “IBAN Account Declaration” platform on myAADE.
  • Your electricity supply number (αριθμός παροχής ρεύματος). It is printed on your electricity bill.
  • The floor area of the home in square metres.
  • If you rent: the tax number (ΑΦΜ) of the owner.

Who can apply

The AADE page does not list the income limits or other eligibility conditions. They come from the yearly decision, and the AADE decides who is included. We do not give income limits here, because we could not confirm the ones for this winter. What the page does say is that you state whether you are the owner or a tenant, and that you choose the fuel type in the application.

Step by step

  1. Declare your IBAN in myAADE if you have not already done so.
  2. Open myΘέρμανση from the AADE website and sign in.
  3. Choose the type of fuel: heating oil, electricity, or another fuel.
  4. Enter the electricity supply number.
  5. Choose your settlement (οικισμός) from the list. If yours is missing, AADE points you to the taxpayer line 1521.
  6. Say whether you own the home or rent it, and add the owner’s tax number if you rent.
  7. Enter the square metres. If you chose heating oil, you are also asked whether the home is in an apartment building.
  8. Check everything and submit. Keep the confirmation.

Heating oil, electricity and other fuels

Heating oil and electricity are covered through the application itself. For other fuels (natural gas, LPG, firewood, biomass and pellets, district heating, and lamp kerosene) AADE asks you to submit your purchase records as well. The page we checked does not say what the records must contain or by what date. That detail comes with each season’s guide, so read it when AADE publishes it, and keep every receipt in the meantime.

Where people get stuck

  • The IBAN was never declared, or is in someone else’s name only.
  • The settlement is missing from the list and the application stops there.
  • The supply number belongs to a different property or a previous tenant.
  • The application was started and not finished.

What we do and do not do

At our desk in Corfu we go through the list above with you, check that the IBAN and supply number are in order, and guide you through the application. Whether you qualify, and how much you receive, is decided by AADE. We cannot predict it and we do not give legal or tax advice.

We never store clients’ passwords. By default we guide you to sign in yourself, remotely or at our office on your own phone. Only when it is really needed do we log in on a secured office computer, in a clean private (incognito) session, with you present. Never send codes or confirmation numbers to anyone by email, chat or phone.
