Digital Nomad Visa Support

We organise your file and coordinate the steps. A lawyer gives the legal advice and the consulate decides.

The “digital nomad visa” is for third-country nationals who work remotely for employers or clients outside Greece. The application goes to the Greek consulate, not to us, and the conditions are set by law and by the authorities’ guidance. Here we say what we know, what we check at the source, and where we help with the file.

What the law says, in general terms

Article 68 of Law 5038/2023 (the Migration Code) provides that third-country nationals, whether self-employed, freelancers or employees, who work remotely using telecommunications for employers or clients outside Greece, can receive a national entry visa from the competent consular authority. The law asks, among other things, for a declaration that you will not work for an employer established in Greece, proof of your work, and sufficient stable income. It also allows family members to accompany you, and a later application for a residence permit with the Aliens and Migration Directorate of the Decentralised Administration before the visa expires.

We do not state duration, income amounts, fees or processing times here. The Migration Code is amended often, recently also by Law 5275/2026 in other places, and we have not confirmed whether or how this provision changed. Procedures and amounts can also differ between consulates. We confirm them at the source when we take on a file, and we urge you to check with the consulate in your country too.

How reliable is what circulates online

On the internet you will find many guides with amounts, percentages and tax advantages, which often disagree with each other. Do not rely on them. Whether you qualify for tax incentives, or where you will be taxed, is a matter for a licensed accountant or tax adviser, and we do not judge it.

What we do and what others do

We do Consulate and lawyer
Collect and organise your documents The consulate receives the application and decides
Arrange translations by certified translators A lawyer judges whether conditions are met and what applies to your case
Take care of the AFM and help with a bank account, when needed A lawyer advises on the residence permit, family and obligations
Coordinate the steps and dates, and remind you of renewals You sign and submit where the consulate asks

What to expect in the file

Each consulate states on its page which documents it asks for. The following are usually discussed:

  • a valid passport and the general documents of a national visa
  • proof of work: a contract with an employer outside Greece, or contracts with clients
  • proof of income, as the consulate asks
  • health insurance and accommodation in Greece, if the consulate asks
  • anything else the law and the circular in force at that time require

This is an indicative list. It does not replace the consulate.

A residence permit after arrival

If you plan to stay longer than the visa, the law provides for an application for a residence permit before it expires. See also our page on residence permits. At renewal we remind you of dates and attendance declarations.

Working remotely

A large part of the file is prepared remotely. Obligations towards the consulate, such as submission or any attendance, are set by the consulate itself, and at some stages your own participation is needed.

For services that need codes, we never store clients’ passwords. By default we guide you to log in yourself, remotely or at the office with your own phone. Only when needed, the login is done on a secured office computer in a clean private (incognito) session, with you present, and with our lawyer where relevant. Never send passwords or one-time codes to anyone, including us, by email, chat or phone.

Bank, AFM and the rest

Many applicants need an AFM and a bank account once they arrive in Greece. See bank accounts for non-residents: whether an account is opened is the bank’s decision.

Time and cost

We give no processing times and no consulate fees. The decision belongs to the authority, and nobody can promise an outcome. Our own fee is agreed before we start.

How to start

Write to us through the contact page or drop in at the office. Tell us your country of residence and what kind of work you do. Our fee is agreed before we start.

Questions about the digital nomad visa

Do I need a lawyer?

For judging the conditions and for residence permit matters it is advisable, and we can connect you with our partner lawyer.

What is the minimum income?

The law sets it and it can change, so we do not write it here. We check it at the source when we take on a file.

Can I work for a Greek company?

The law asks for a declaration that you will not work for an employer established in Greece. The work must be for employers or clients outside Greece.

Can you promise the visa?

No. The consular authority grants it and nobody can promise it.

Is this for EU citizens?

No. It is for third-country nationals.

The Corfu Office is a private paperwork office. It is not a government service and not the municipal KEP. We take care of documents, collection and coordination. The competent authority issues the documents and makes the decisions, and we do not promise any outcome. The information on this page is general and is not legal, tax or immigration advice. Legal advice comes from a licensed lawyer, where relevant in cooperation with our partner lawyer, and tax advice from a licensed accountant.
